Oh What a Day

Embarkation day.

At about 4 am, I registered that the nightclub music has ceased. It was a very quiet start to our day… just pattering and re-packing our suitcases before we went downstairs to check out.

Three of us caught a maxi Uber with all the luggage while everyone else trammed to the overseas terminal. The look on poor Poor Thong’s ( who I mis-called Tom throughout our entire interaction) face as he pulled in to see three ladies with 8 big suitcases was priceless. He folded the back seats down and we fitted everything in

Our little crew about to go get Starbucks after dropping our luggage

Dropping our luggage off was super easy and quick and we then walked the four minted to where we made Starbucks our base for the morning.

We took shifts minding backpacks and experimenting with Frappuccino flavours while the others explored the Rocks district and the Sunday markets. It was especially fun spotting Disney cruisers in the crowd- Mickey ears, shirts and backpacks a giveaway.

When I constantly stopped to chat to them, it became apparent that I can still embarrass the adult kids, just by existing. 🤪

Embarkation was smooth and quite joyous. We breezed through custom and officials wearing oversized Mickey hands

Our welcome!

It felt surreal to be welcomed aboard as the ‘Taylors family’

We headed straight to Cabanas for lunch. And really, right after lunch, our rooms were ready.

Room tour?

It was fun to unpack and explore our room and step out onto our balcony .

While people chilled or did their own thing for a bit, I explored the kids only areas. The spaces look like so much fun.

Our safety muster was pretty painless.

Goodbye Sydney!

I sat in on a trivia and charged my phone at the same time before our 5:45 dinner at Tiana’s. it is themed to be just like Tiana’s restaurant from The Princess and The Frog.

The picture outside Tiana’s

We met our server Noel and our assistant server Deresta and theywill be rotating at our dinner restaurants along with us.

We met Louis too!
And Tiana dropped by!

I had the sirloin and the jambalaya shrimp. The shrimp was the best.

We felt the grind beneath our feet uof the ship beginning to move as we ate dinner.

.

No one was over struck on their fancy drinks After dinner, we headed to trivia- placing second in the brainteasers quiz at the Crown and Fin pub.

Nanny met the ship’s captain!

Huge gusts of wind were rendering the automatic doors useless and the pools needed to close. but that didn’t deter us and about 2000 others from gathering for the Sail A Wave party

.Just before 8:00 we were on decks 9 and 10. The weather looked ominous, like we might be h acing into a tornado. Like we were sailing ‘🎶into the unknoowwnn!’ 🎵- but we were glad the event wasn’t cancelled..

Phenomenal dance crew hyped us up to head into the ominous storm clouds and rollicking waves.

Then late.light snacks and bed

Into the unknown! ☔️
