Short one today:We continue to enjoy the efficiency of the London tube. After a lazy wake up this morning, we headed in with the masses to see the changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace. We snatched up the last patch of gate to press our faces against. From then on, everyone else piled inContinueContinue reading “Changing of the guards mystery and a ‘bird’s eye view”

Arriving in Londontown
Our experience with British Airways- we flew the A380, was excellent! We were offered a choice of either ‘beef and mash’ or ‘chicken and rice’.It sounded plain but it was the best meal of the flights so far. Fragrant and rich.I have disappointed myself though that with each meal I have been able to eat lessContinueContinue reading “Arriving in Londontown”
Europe Trip: Day 1
The 10 yr old found these photo opportunities: After our 3:30 am start, I could scarcely believe we were actually boarding Cathay Pacific only 10 minutes later that the scheduled departure time. No tornados or other things to delay us for 2 1/2 days…. So far at least. As you probably know- being on planes isContinueContinue reading “Europe Trip: Day 1”
National Portrait Gallery- the short of it
Tonight we went to the National Portrait Gallery to take a tour of two of its current exhibitions and to hear from award-winning Aussie photographer Peter Brew Bevan. I wish I had encouraged myself to reflect more about the night in advance and let the significance of what a privilege to hear from such an esteemed photographer actually sinkContinueContinue reading “National Portrait Gallery- the short of it”
VIP event at Old Parliament House- the short of it
Tonight’s Human Brochure event was at the Museum of Australian Democracy which is in Old Parliament House. Upon arrival we chatted over drinks and delicious hors d’oeuvres. Below left are the beetroot and goats cheese marshmallows. They were definitely of a marshmallow texture slightly sweet, very more-ish; I had several. On the right are the truffle chicken nuggets. TheyContinueContinue reading “VIP event at Old Parliament House- the short of it”

Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Our last early wake up day! Disney Hollywood Studios was on our agenda and it was a wonderful day. Thankfully both Zac and I felt a lot better. Magic Kingdom Day 2
I had a horrible night with feverish dreams that I kept waking up from nearly every hour. By 6 am, I figured I may as well get up. Every part of me felt achy and hot. Zac had been so sick the night the night before and Bodie had been up feeling feverish too, soContinueContinue reading “Magic Kingdom Day 2”
