I’m not in Kansas anymore but at least the showers are hot

Waking at 4:30 had its advantages this morning.

I had time to shower and use the gorgeous shampoo and conditioner one last time. However, you cannot adjust the water temperature here, you get what you get and you don’t get upset.

This morning, for some reason my shower head chose tepid for my crack of dawn deluge. Brrrrr

After checking my luggage in with bell services, I was nice and early due the first of the early entry rope drop ( from here on out, let’s call it eerd )

After that one opened, with security check an entry to Downtown Disney. The next eerd was at park entry. Then a third at actual rope drop. Then those of us heading to the main prize, Rise of the Resistance. Rope drop only got us as far as the big gates Star Wars Galaxy and after all the early entry hooha those gates didn’t open until 8.

And despite all the staff telling us not to run, many did.

I was still in the first crew out on the ride and by 9:30 with all the work I did yesterday and with the help of Lightning Lanes, I was boarding my very last ride of the trip, Autotopia.Which was very anticlimactic as it is a boring ride.

Thanks, yesterday’s Michelle- I love our work!

I was very hungry – it was time for breakfast.

I went to Bengal Barbecue and ordered a pork belly skewer and a grilled vegetable skewer with a purple iced punch.

The skewers were VERY good. The pork belly succulent and not over-sauced, dressed with tangy pickles.

I sat in the seating area for a while and then basically killed time inching closer to my lunch spot, Cafe Orleans.

It was fun overhung the park with no agenda to go on rides and just enjoy some of the pretty areas.

As I wandered Main Street, I stumbled upon The Dapper Dans doing a shorter set, so that was enjoyable.

Their set from yesterday

Then I found a seat in the shade, bought a water bottle to justify sitting there and parked there until I needted to go get lunch.

I should have just cancelled the lunch. My heart wasn’t in it. The location was pretty but once I read how hot and stressed the staff were and gauged all the overtired kids, I rushed my order and got something I knew I wouldn’t eat. And I just wanted an iced coffee and I knew the punch would be way too sweet.

So I barely touched my meal which was as expensive.

Afterwards, I sped back to the hotel, grabbed by bags and got the Lyft to take me to my honeymoon for the night.

I slept in and off for the half hour trip.

As we drove past the classy airport hotels, into the more dingy ones, I think both the driver and I both held our breath as he pulled up to the post apocalyptic exterior of my lodging. A FAR cry from when I had come!

The lady checking me in seemed nice, and the place is attached to a Greek restaurant that looks like it doesn’t serve a lot of people.

My room was upstairs p relooking a courtyard reminiscent of Melrose Place.

It was a nice clean room.

I had some things I needed to grab.

I waked 20 minutes to a super Target. Grabbed a microwave meal first dinner.

When I got home to watch some tv over a very early dinner, there was more microwave and the TV is broken.

The dinner I didn’t get to eat looks yummy.

So I reconfigured my bags, slept a bit, and had the most wonderful HOT shower- which made everything so much better.

Every 2 or 3 minutes, it sounds like a plane is going to slam right into my room.

Now I am getting ready to connect back to Australia, joining a memorial service online.
