Last night while drinking Dr Pepper in bed and laughing at the Impractical Jokers, I knocked the drink all over the little beside table. Using one of the little wash clothes from the bathroom, I mopped it up.
When i woke this morning, and began tidying up, I noticed I hadn’t rinsed the brown drink out of the pure white water wash cloth and it had dried into the material in unsightly poo-brown streaks.
My attempts to wash the stains out with soap, with shampoo, in both hot and cold water, only made it look like I might have tried to clean up a poo-stained wash cloth.
Greaaaat!
Once all my luggage was packed, I ordered a $5 Lyft . It was a Tesla, so obviously it took me a while to work out how to open the door.

The driver was monosyllabic, but the sign on the back of his seat said he doesn’t need a tip!
Driving into Disneyland was so fun.

I ‘m learning to be unapologetic in my love of the escapism it is to be at a Disney park. I work hard in my everyday life, and Disney is an immersive experience that my wild imagination just embraces whole heartedly.
There is a distinct Disney scent in its hotels and as I entered the Disneyland Hotel it wafted right up into my welcoming nostrils.
I checked in and left all my luggage so I could go explore.

Today’s plan was to do half Anaheim/ half Downtown Disney, so the fact that I was at the hotel before 9 probably forecasted a quiet day.

Downtown Disney doesn’t have even half a days worth of things to explore.

I waited with much anticipation for Salt & Straw to open. My first two scoops were the Salted, Malted Chocolate Chip cookie dough and the Pear and Blue Cheese.

The rich creaminess of the first scoop, so generously stuffed with cookie dough chunks was delightful. It was salty enough…. nearly.
Practically buried underneath, the pear and blue cheese scoop was a total non-event for me. The icecream felt more like sorbet, the pear was too subtle (and I don’t even like pear 😂) and I saw no evidence of the blue cheese.
I decided to come back and chill and plan my Disney strategy for the next two days at Sam’s Tiki lounge at the hotel .

I planned over warm, salty Wetzels pretzels and a a dole whip float that was nice and tangy when the icy part was all mixed in with the pineapple juice.

While waiting for my room to be ready, I walked and explored and tried two more Salt and Straw flavours.

I loved the peanut brittle scoop, very peanut buttery and big chunks of brittle. However without the richness of full cream milk to keep it all together, it was very crumbly almost falling off the cone, rather than melting.

I really could not discern coffeee in the coffee scoop. It was nice, but might as well have been a brown sugar ice cream with sweet crunchy bits.
I think it. turns out I am no longer as big on ice cream as I once was…
My room was ready and it is beeee- youtiful.

I called bell service to bring up my stored bags and a cast member promptly delivered me the wrong bags, also labelled Taylor. Those bags looked far more interesting than mine 😂
He fixed the problem promptly,
The next half hour I was down at guest services, fixing my booking do u can take advantage of the extra early time I have access to as a guest of the hotel.

Now….
I am finishing one of my favourite drinks m, a taro bopa-and some chicken pieces via Uber eats. Early bed as it is an early start tomorrow.
