Sheri’s and my 10 hour tourist extravaganza

Pretty much just a photo blog post. It has been too busy!
Sheri and I put in a 10 hour day yesterday! She is fabulous company.
I didn’t know an introvert could spend 10 hours in the company of another human when isn’t work.
But Sheri is like a unicorn

in terms of an exploring companion. We had FUN!
She, her daughter Rachel and I all piled into the car for a 10 am start at visiting Butchart Gardens.
Butchart surpassed any photos I had ever seen. Created by the Butchart family who transformed an old quarry into this thing of lush beauty. I have never seen anything like it.

After a few hours skimming the surface of Butchart’s floral magic, we drove on to Sidney, a town on the Salish Sea.

Lunch was at the Surly Mermaid, a cool hipster place full of sweet young waitresses. I chose the burger that came with peanut butter aioli, obviously…. because: peanut butter.

All the food was delicious.
We pottered around Sidney, known as ‘booktown’, visiting a bookstore, hunting for sea glass down at the beach.
The Shaw Centre for the Salish Sea is a not for profit aquarium and it has a fun scavenger hunt. So, the entry into the aquarium itself via the elevator is like the start of a Disney ride!
