Yesterday is going to be a write-off really as far as in-depth blogging.
We woke early to get in as much chat time before heading out for a morning of exploring.

A group of us drove into pretty Port Townsend. We caught the ferry across to Fort Casey, built to protect Puget Sound against ship attacks.

We climbed the battery and checked out the ‘disappearing guns’.

Admiralty Head Lighthouse is now a little museum and gift shop.
We lunched back in Port Townsend, where I ate a small bowl of tasty clam chowder. I am taking the opportunity to eat chowder.

Why a small bowl? So I had room for PIE!
I ordered the upside-down apple and pecan pie and it turned out to be that day’s best choice.
The pecan topping was sweet and salty and buttery and crunchy…..

I saved room for ice cream which we found at another establishment.
The fact that no peanut butter-themed ice cream graced the menu disappointed me.
Neither of my flavour choices thrilled my tastebuds. I had 2 scoops: maple/ walnut and coconut.

I have been spoilt with fantastic coconut ice cream in my time; this one was very mild-flavoured with dry shredded coconut in it.
The maple/ walnut was mild too.
We arrived back at our digs with about an hour before our catered meal arrived.

After a tasty dinner, we watched the slideshow from our RVA years that my sweet girl put together.
We played a fun 80’s themed-game of ‘20 questions’ which should have actually been called ‘50 cheaty -hints’ as we were pretty dreadful at it and needed lots of help.
Getting elderly is no laughing matter, kids.
I was trying to help my friend Moira guess the lyric ‘shot through the heart and you’re to blame’
She had deduced it was song lyrics and I coaxed her into guessing the name of the band with my genius hints.
Then, when via some epic miming on my part, she worked out that the lyrics contained the word ‘shot’, she burst out ‘Shot through the heart?’
I pumped the air in victory but she yelped, laughing ‘Shot through the heart is NOT by Guns and Roses, Michelle. It’s by Van Halen!’

I tried to leave for bed at about 10:30, but it was after midnight again.
